Description:

When a standard AR-15 is converted to shoot .22lr instead of .223 (or any other caliber), the bolt catch stops functioning.

Some magazines (like the CMMG Gen 1) try to replace this functionality by having a follower that gets in the way of the bolt after the last round is fired. The challenge with this is that the bolt will then drop after the magazine is removed because it was just the magazine holding it open.

One answer to this issue is the Better-Mag adaptor. This drop-in piece works with your stock bolt catch to be able to hold open the bolt.

This adaptor works exclusively with S&W 15-22 magazines. There is a built in 'shim' which takes up the slack because 15-22 magazines are smaller than a standard AR mag well.
